How to connect to alfresco repo

from external web application? I understand that I need to try via that spring contexts. Is there some client .jar prepared to be included into external application to provide alfresco-connectivity?

There are actually numerous ways to connect to an alfresco repository, either embedded or remote. You can find more info on the wiki http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Developer_Guide#Developing_against_the_Alfresco_Repository.

Also check out the samples that come with the AlfrescoSDK, osme good stuff in there.
