The "External Authentication" subsystem is not related to SAML. It is used when some kind of application is passing the already authenticated user identity to Alfresco via a HTTP header.

SAML is an Enterprise / Cloud-only functionality.

I did not have a specific 3rd-party addon in mind, but the one you have listed sounds like it would do the job on first glance.

As far as I am aware there is no SAML support in Alfresco Community Edition. So you cannot configure it unless you have some 3rd party addon that provides this functionality...

Hi Axel.

Glad to read a message from you 🙂

So, i can't configure SAML by an external authentication for example ?

authentication.chain=external1:external,alfrescoNtlm1:alfrescoNtlm

For my project, i have a company wich provides services "identity provider" and this one ask me to configure Alfresco with some informations like IdP AuthenticationRequest Service URL, IdP SingleLogoutRequest Service URL, IdP SingleLogoutResponse Service URL.

I have these informations and the certificate to configure like in this page : Configuring SAML settings for SSO | Alfresco Documentation . But, unfortunately, it's the Cloud version, not community.

It's not the 3rd party you talked about ?

The 3rd party is a add-on like https://www.ssoeasy.com/alfresco-sso/  ?

Thanks Axel !

Thanks a lot Axel !!!

So we'll look for another solution.
