how to backup configue files?

From wiki help files, we know how to backup content files,index and database.

But I have a question. I think we should also backup our own configue files, for examples, index model, content model, UI configue. So how to backup these parts ?

Any document about this?

Yes you should also back up your configuration under the "shared" folder.   Either copy it from time to time to a backup location.    Or another idea is to put it into a version control system.
