How to attach seamlessly a file to a topic of forum (pièce attachée à un sujet de discussion in french)

I need to be able to upload a file and dynamically insert a link to this file into a forum subject (discussion in french version of Alfresco), like you does in this community forum with Join icon.

The sequence of action, to add to forum subject custom menu is :

1. Select a local file to upload with upload icon.
2. Upload the file to pre-defined repository folder and define it as shared
3. Get the link to this shared file and past it into the current forum subject

Another way would be to add an entry in repository page :

1. Select a local file to upload with upload icon.
2. Upload the file to current repository folder
3. Select a forum and subject in list
4. Append the link to uploaded file at end of selected subject.

Could you indicate how do you realized join action in this community.alfresco.com forum ?

Does it works on Alfresco Community of Alfresco One?

Could you please add more details on what you are not able to achieve here.

• We could upload file.
• We have share link for each of the file.
• We can add it in forum post of alfresco.

May be I am missing the point. Please let us know more details.

Thanks for your answer. I know we can do separately each action you enumerate. But my need is to automated this with a custom menu or button.

Ideally, the user shouldn't have to

1. Goto Shared Documents
2. Choice a file to upload
3. Copy link to uploaded file
4. Goto Forum tab
5. Paste link into topic

Only, Inside Forum topic:

1. Clic on action or button "Attach Element"
2. Select file to upload

The new link on uploaded element is automatically inserted into current Forum Topic

Another way to do this would be, Inside Shared Documents:

1. Choice a file to upload
2. Clic on action or button "Share with Forum"
3. Select in dropdown list a Forum Topic to add link to uploaded file
