How to add aspect to record folder

Hi,

Could someone please point me to a way to do this? I am brand new to Alfresco and Share. We have things working in Alfresco 3.1.2 but now we are trying to go to 3.4.4 using Share. I know how to create records through Share but what we are trying to do is add custom metadata to record folders added under different categories.

Thanks.

Thanks but that is for adding custom metadata to ALL record series or ALL records, etc, right? I need to add unique custom metadata to different categories. For example, if I have a Case Files category, I have metadata specific to record folders under that category, and if I have an Arrest Files category then I have different metadata specific to record folders under that category.

I have tried to run the Add Aspect rule through Explorer for categories created through Share. I gather that I should not be trying to manipulate record information through the Explorer interface but I don't see a way to do what I need to do through Share. At any rate, when I try to run the rule through Explorer I get an Access Denied error, saying that I don't have the permissions to run the rule. I have added myself to all records groups including Records Administrator, but I don't know if this is really a permissions issue or if I'm just not allowed to make these changes through Explorer for records (it works fine for other docs created in Share).

So is there a way to run rules on records through the interface (either through Explorer or Share) or do I need to do something else, like writing a webscript?

Hi
Records are contents as the others… So you can configure rules using the Alfresco explorer without problems…
