Hi,
I am trying to achieve a use case which goes like this:
There are two users. Each is having a space assigned. They have added some files to their respective spaces.
So I would like to know is it possible for an user to lock the files he has added. To be specific what I would like to acheive is give a particular user the authority over the files he has added to his space. Can any one plz provide me a sample code for this. I would also like to know whether alfresco supports Digital Rights Management.
Plz help..
Thanks in advance..
Debi.

Depending on what you're trying to do, either the permissions functionality (see http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Security_and_Authentication) or the checkout/checkin functionality may do what you're after.  Permissions are a way to ensure that certain content cannot be written (or, if necessary, read) by anyone but the author, while checkout/checkin allows a single asset to be edited by anyone, but allows a user to "reserve" the file while they edit it (to ensure that no one else can edit it concurrently).

I'd suggest experimenting with both features to see which one will work best for your specific use case.

Cheers,
Peter

Thanks Peter,
I have achieved my functionality using Permissions. Its working fine but I am not sure whether this is the right way.
