How much memory does Alfresco need ?

I've been using Alfresco 1.1 with JBoss 4.0.3SP1 and I keep getting out of memory errors.

I have set JBoss memory to 2048meg but this does not seem to be enough.

Hello,

The default memory settings for Alfresco is 512m (megabytes).

We have done extensive stress testing using 1024m (megabytes) running over the whole weekend with no memory issues.

How are you specifying the memory that Jboss should use?

V1.2 has much better tuning of caches etc and fixes some leaks in these areas.

Alfresco 1.1 has two memory leaks which cause this problem. Both are fixed in 1.2. We have tested 1.2 with 100 concurrent users in only 512MB of RAM over several days of continuous testing.
