How do I add MetaData Fields?

Hi, I am wondering if I can create a template for one of my folders "Spaces" that has custom meta data fields (to help with searching) when I upload documents. I can't find any documentation on how to create these custom metadata fields. Can you please help? I would like to add "Project Number" and "Customer" to each file I upload. Thank you!

What you want to do is create your own custom folder type that extends from cm:folder. Your custom metadata will be properties of that type.
