Hello Alfresco users, i am wondering if anyone here is using Alfresco in an industry that requires electronic signatures when documents need to be approved (during or completion of workflow) or edited by users.

How did you use Alfresco ECM and remain in compliance with HIPPA,SOX,21CFR-Part11,etc.

In particular i am wondering how you got around the issue of signatures.

Thanks,

-Kurt

Hi,
we have implemented an Alfresco extension to digitally sign a document.

So users can sign a PDF in the context of a simple workflow, an advanced workflows or as a single action.
The signature is actually stored directly within the PDF, and is automatically validated by Acrobat Reader.

I'm not sure wether it is compliant with US regulations, since it was originally designed for Belgian EID Card. But it is based on standard certificate technologies, and could easily be adapted.

We just published some marketing material, and a demo movie on our web site : http://www.cediti.be/en.
