Hot Backup

I have read  the info on the wiki on backup and restore but I need to figure out how to backup a large dataset every day.
I need to backup a alf_data of at least 500GB every day.  I can run another server as slave but how do I backup the alf_data.

Doing a full backup every night will just take to long and I cannot afford down time.  How can I sync a master slave?  At least if I have a master slave, I can run a backup from there.  I would really appreciate any help.

You should take a look at this page Content Replication.

Hi Thanks for the feedback.

OK so I can do incremental backups of the content store with rsync or something.  The Wiki states that I should have my sql and content backups sync in one backup set.

Am I right in saying then that I basically just do a hot backup of mysql and then do a incremental backup of content once my mysql db is backed up?

Thanks again for the response

I attach my question to this old related topic…

Can you please tell me what's gonna happen while taking incremental daily backups, and some content in the repo is deleted since the last full backup?
Restoring incremental backups will cause deleted files to appear again in contentstore, can this cause any kind of inconsistency to the repository?

And one more question: is definitively necessary to backup contentstore.deleted folder too for a correct restore of a repo?

Thank you!
