Grails and WSF

Hello Gents!
I wanted to find out if there had been any progress on leveraging grails for the WSF?  At my place of work we need to deliver highly customized web applications and I've often thought that it would be nice to integrate Alfresco.  If I could use Grails for Web Application Development and Alfresco to manage the content and document workflow that would be excellent.
Thanks!

Does anyone have an answer for this?  I would really like to know if I could leverage alfresco simply within a grails application.

I have not worked with Grails, but can it access the Javascript API or the web services API to interact with Alfresco?  Those will get you the common document mgmt functions needed.  Workflow might be a bit trickier depending on what you need.  There are some webscripts related to workflow tasks you would want to look at.

Yes and yes.  But my understanding was that "WSF 2.0" was going to use Grails and I suppose I assumed that it would be integrated closely with webforms and all that good stuff.

Does "challenges encountered when trying to properly execute Grails inside the Virtual Tomcat server (related to dynamic class reloading)"  mean I would have problems with:

1. webscripts in Groovy  (using the Groovy alfresco forge project ) with ADW and/or 3.0  ?

2. Using the grails infrastructure + grails flex plugin  with ADW  / 3.0 ?
(don't need the Grails UI, only need the BlazeDS, Flex web tier compiler, from the grails flex plugin)
(flex mxml and actionscript source files would be in wcm avm sandboxes along with regular web files)

For use with in the FlexSpaces  and FlexSpaces+AIR  alfresco clients I am working on (Blog):

Friends,

For the time being, we're backing out on using Grails as part of WSF because of challenges encountered when trying to properly execute Grails inside the Virtual Tomcat server (related to dynamic class reloading).

Thanks,

It has been some time since this was posted.
Is there any progress on supporting Grails apps in Alfresco (including Virtual servers developer / staging preview) ?
