Getting start: the first step

Hi everyone,
I'm a developer and now I'm working with alfresco for the first time.
The installation and configuration of Alfresco was successful. I see the Alfresco homepage and I use it.
To develop my first "content model"  or my first apllication whatever I start?
There is a simple guide to do this? A simple ( very simple ) example to start!

I'd check out the Developer's Guide section of the Alfresco wiki: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Developer_Guide

After that I'd recommend buying a copy of The Alfresco Developer's guide by Jeff Potts: http://www.packtpub.com/alfresco-developer-guide/book You can even purchase it as an e-book for some instant gratification!

Both of these resources have easy to follow examples to get you going.
