Alfresco Language Pack
======================

For release: 1.2

For locale: de-DE (default)

==============================
Contents of this Language Pack
==============================

*_de_DE.properties

============
Installation
============

- Download the File  V1.2_de_DE.zip from SourceForge

- Decompress it to a temporary folder

- Copy all files into <config>/messages folder.  From release 1.2, the config folder can be in a different location to the web application root. <config> under tomcat is usually something like: alfresco/tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco

- Edit the 'web-client-config.xml' file in the <config root> folder to set what languages you wish to be available:

  - Find the '<languages>' section
  - Add or remove languages of the form:

       '<language locale="de_DE">German</language>'

- The order of the language entries determines the order they are presented on the login prompt.
- Save the file.

- Restart the Alfresco server.

Hello,

Great work, thank you!

Just to add to Michael's comments about the 1.2 configuration, the locations should be:

Configuration to enable German on the login screen:
tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/extension

Rename web-client-config-custom.xml.sample to web-client-config-custom.xml

Edit the file to uncomment the config block for Languages and add the line:
<language locale="de_DE">German</language>

Remove the other languages you don't want.

Copy the contents of the German language pack into the folder:
tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/messages

Restart Tomcat, and you can select German at login.

Hi,

the german Language Pack from Version 1.2 is partly usable for Version 1.3.0dev. The translation of some function is missing or could be improved, but for demonstration purposes with a german auditorium it is great!

Best regards

Hi, I found a critical error in the Language pack used in the alfresco 1.3.0E tomcat bundle which prevents starting up after a clean install.
The bootstrap-tutorial_de_DE.properties has the wrong filename (tutorial.document.name=Alfresco Tutorial) should be tutorial.document.name=Alfresco-Tutorial.pdf

This prevents the whole system from starting up!

Anyway I think these documents/folders shouldn't be translated as long as there are no language bundles. If somebody logs in using English he will not be able to understand anything.

Is there a chance to change some of these translations since they are really funny 😉

cheers
Heiko
