generating keys for Solr when on a separate box

Hi,
I've installed community 4.0d successfully running with Lucene. I'm now looking to move to Solr running on a separate box. Could somebody provide guidance as to how to complete the environment varibles in the generate_keystore.sh in this case Also, on which server should the script be run?
