function like veto files in alfresco

dear folks,

i was wondering, is there any function in alfresco that similar like veto files in samba?

for example: i do not want my user using alfresco to keep or store files such as multimedia files (*.mp3, .3gp etc).

how do i achieve that ?

Hi,

How are you using alfresco?
Whether it is the
1. Alfresco explorer
2. FTP
3. CIFS

If it is through explorer then you can customize the alfresco upload component to allow only desired mimetypes.
IF it is through the FTP, there also you can check the mimetype before moving the file to alfresco ftp.

Sorry not sure about CIFS.

Actually most of my users are accessing alfresco through CIFS.

Do you think is possible to configure Alfresco Explorer when user moving files such as .mp3, 3gp etc to alfresco shared folder that files will be blocked ?

Hi,

I am not sure about whether filtering is possible or not in CIFS. For this you have to explore SMB.

One more option is user can put any file in some particular location, you can create the rule on that space to filter the files based on the mimetype.
