Folders Gone in FTP

Hi everyone,

I have been transferring files in Alfresco using FTP. Just today I noticed that some folders are already gone. When I try to access via web client, the folders are still there with their subfolders and files - complete.
How did this happen and how do I make it visible again in FTP? I am using the admin access. Alfresco version is 1.4 with jboss under windows2003 server.

Please anyone, help badly needed as ftp is useful in transferring multiple files.  We cannot transfer files anymore as folders are no longer visible.

Thank you in advance for any tips anyone can share…

EriCtZ.

One more thing also, when I looked into the users of alfresco, some users are change into groups and can no longer log in.
Error says (upon login via web ui):

javax.faces.FacesException: Error calling action method of component with id loginForm:submit
caused by:
javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: Exception while invoking expression #{LoginBean.login}
caused by:
org.alfresco.repo.security.permissions.AccessDeniedException: Access Denied. You do not have the appropriate permissions to perform this operation.
caused by:
net.sf.acegisecurity.AccessDeniedException: Access is denied.

The details like: First Name, Last Name, Email are erased and replaced with the username. There were about 50+ users who were affected. When I reverted 1 user to its original details like First Name, Last Name, Email, the user still cannot log in.  Does this have to do with the missing folders in FTP? What causes this? Do I need to recreate the 50+ users who were affected.

I also found another error. When I rename an existing folder, error says:
Failed to create new space due to error: Transaction didn't commit: Could not execute JDBC batch update

I am using Alfresco1.4 with JBoss under windows 2003 server.

Please help. Badly needed. Please, please, please.
