Folder versioning Alfresco 3c

I need to make folders versionable like files in Alfresco 3c.

Is it possible?

AFAIK no, folders are not "versionable" only the contents.

One option for alfresco is to use an AVM store since the folders are inherently versioned if they are in AVM.

I can see that it would be useful but as far as I can see no-one has created an enhancement request for this feature or sketched out requirements.

How can i configure Alfresco to use AVM to store folders?

I have to create version of folders like i do now with files…

For example:
- Folder A with File B and version 1
- Deletion of File B or upload of File c from Folder A
- Creation of version 1.1 of Folder A

Now I need to compare version 1 and version 1.1 of Folder A…
