This is an old thread, but I wanted to point out that the most likely reason you never received an answer is that your question doesn't provide enough context or detail. Going forward, you are much more likely to get help if you include specifics about:
- How you created a folder (Web client? If so, which one? API? If so, which one?) - What version of Alfresco you were using - What, if anything changed from the time you created the folder until you saw the problem
