FilePicker in 2.1.0

Hi,

Having found the same problem as stated in this other post, I wonder whether custom file pickers are really available in Alfresco 2.1.0 Community Final or not.

That's because I've double checked the web-client-config-wcm.xml file (located in <alfresco-root>/tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco) that comes with the alfresco bundle available in sourceForge and haven't found any lead of the other default appearances for the file-picker widget.

Am I missing anything? If so, could someone please direct me to what is missing?

You can create whatever type of customized file-picker you want, just give it is different appearance name that you reference in your XSD.

Please note that with 2.2 Enterprise this December, we will also add top-level directory limiters to the file picker control, as well as the ability to list results from saved searches (for example, to allow selection of just XMLs created from a particular web form).
