In the discussions and blog areas of Alfresco Share you have the ability to insert an image into a post. By default, I am only given a option to insert and image via URL. How can I change this function to allow for a user to upload an image from their desktop and insert it into a post or discussion? Is anyone else having this issue?

This facility is currently available in the Wiki TinyMCE editor where you can insert images and links to documents that have already been uploaded to the Wiki's associated site.  These buttons are added in the "components\wiki\page.js" by the "alfresco-imagelibrary" and "alfresco-linklibrary" values in the configuration options used to instantiate the editor.  I don't know whether there are plans to introduce the same capabilities into the blog and discussions editors but it should be possible for you to customize share to add this capability yourself.  I haven't investigated this any further, but this should give you enough information to get started if you want to add the capability yourself.

Dave

Hi…

I'm also interested in the possibility of including images within blog posts. I see the suggestion of how to tinker with TinyMCE to allow that, but I have a couple of other questions:

-is this feature being considered for a future release? I think referring to images is an awfully important feature for effective blog postings

-how might this integrate with the 'publish to external blog' feature?

Thanks–
