File upload stalls and then fails.

Trying to upload some Visio documents into a folder in a site's document library.  The Visio files are between 150-300 KB, so not too big.

When I try to upload them through the browser, the flash uploader progress bar gets to somewhere between 35 and 50%, then hangs for 20-30 seconds before turning orange, hitting 100% and indicating that it failed.  I also tried uploading a single Visio file and it failed in the same manner.  There's nothing appearing in the log, either.

I tried a bunch of searches to see if anybody else has seen this problem, but didn't come up with anything.  Anybody have any suggestions?

At some point, while trying to fix a problem with the flash previewer, this started working.  Odd.

I'm experiencing a similar problem.

However, in my case, I am actually uploading larger files (between 30MB and 130MB), and my uploads succeed (for the most part).

The Upload progress bar, in both cases, reaches 100% and remains green. However, the Completed notification does not appear (even after waiting ~4 minutes after the progress bar had reached 100%). The "OK" button to acknowledge the successful upload never appears. After refreshing the Browser, the document appears to have been uploaded successfully.

However, in some cases, I decide to hit refresh somewhat sooner (~2 minutes after 100% status is reached). In this case, the document does NOT appear in the folder (upload did not complete successfully.

My question is; is there a known issue for successful file uploads, wherein the file uploads completely, but Alfresco fails to notify the user that the job has completed?

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Hi,

We have noticed exactly the same issue using the webscript, we are using our own client so this is not a frontend Share issue (although we also use the Flash Uploader). Whatching the HTTP responses, for whatever reason you upload files, it hangs waiting for a response for ages. Sometimes refreshing the folder shows the file uploaded, other times it doesn't.

We are at a loss to why this is, and we're having a lot of issues around the whole file upload process through this webscript. Files that upload without any issues in Alfresco Explorer don't upload properly through the webscript, sometimes we get metadata extraction exceptions which roll back the whole upload transaction (I've seen this is fixed in 3.2 apparently, we're on 3 Stable) but overall we have a lot of unhappy users who can't upload their files which is the main function of our platform!

If there's any fixes for this please post them here. If its an SWF Uploader issue we will remove it, but my feeling it (due to lack of any HTTP response) its an Alfresco issue.
