Hello there,
I'm using Alfresco Community v4.2.0 (4480) schema 6020. CIFS has been configured.
Shortly after creating an Office 2010 Excel file in CIFS and attempting to open it via CIFS, Office 2010 will report that the file is locked for editing.
I've found this bug : https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-12328 . This has been corrected and deployed on the pro version.
What about the "Community" version ? Do you have the same issue ?
Thanks in advance,

It's not ALF-12328 which was related to Level II Shared Oplocks, that issue was closed ages ago. It is another bug with similar symptoms 😞 There is a fix which should be in the next community version.

Can somebody tell me if Alfresco Community v4.2.0 (4480) schema 6020 is the latest version ? Does it correspond to Alfresco 4.2.0c ?
Thanks !

Hi Bob,
The last version you can download is the 4576 as you can see from the link of the download page.
https://process.alfresco.com/ccdl/?file=release/community/build-04576/alfresco-community-4.2.c-insta...
Of course this is not valid for the nightly build and the enterprise.

Hi Francesco,
Thanks a lot, I didn't pay attention !
Mhmmmm, the problem persists. Does somebody know when this bug will be corrected in the community version ?

Since Office 2010 allows webdav Links to be used directly in File dialogs (open/save), and webdav does not seem to produce these issues, this is a viable workaround.
We have not tested it under all possible curcumstances, but it is worth a try.
