Exporting repository out of Alfresco

Hi,
We have one of our departments using Alfresco to store their data  since 2 years.
They will have to migrate to another tool as a part of tool convergence activity across the company.
We have to move all the documents (PDFs, doc, docx) out of Alfresco repository.
What would be an effective way to get all the files (alfresco stores as .bin) in human readable format?

export via one of the file system projections.

Or write a data conversion script that takes data from alfresco and sticks it into your new system.
