HI

There is a requirement in my project that whenever a file is moved to some User Spaces in Alfresco, the file should be also copied to some pre-define physical filesystem (means in the C drive or somewhere) with the name of the file intact.
Is there any javascript or some thing to do it????
Can anyone help me on this issue???

Regards,
Himadri Das

For security reasons Javascript doesn't have access to the filesystem of the Alfresco server, but you could easily accomplish this in Java via a custom action (http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Custom_Actions) that's configured as a rule (http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Client_Manage_Content_Rules) on the space in question.

Cheers,
Peter

Hi Gentsr,

Can you plzz help us in resolving this??? Iwould like to have the contents moved to a pre defined physical location, when a content is moved in a Space.

I would much appreciate if you can send me the code and the steps to follow, since I am not a programmer!!!

Thanks in advance

The next steps are going to involve code development, so if you don't have development capabilities readily available I'd suggest engaging the services of someone who can provide them.

If you're an Enterprise subscriber you have the option to engage one of Alfresco's certified systems integration partners (http://www.alfresco.com/partners/si/) or Alfresco professional services (http://www.alfresco.com/services/consulting/).  If you're using the Labs release, then I'm sure there are "guns for hire" that are capable of doing this kind of work.

Cheers,
Peter
