Errors creating content

Hi all,

As a newbie to Alfresco, I am not sure if this is the right place to ask my question, if not, please correct me:

I've installed alfresco community editon 2.1.0 (from: alfresco-community-tomcat-2.1.0.zip) on WinXP SP2 and MySQL. Everything according to the installation manual. Both, Alfresco and the virtual server startup fine, and almost all features function OK (using the Getting Started guide).
However I got the following javascript errors (in MS-IE v7.0):

1. Creating HTML Content in a Space.
Create Content Wizard (step: 2. Enter Content)
    a. Line: 2,    Position: 65546, Code: 0   : ')' expected
    b. Line: 251, Position: 1,        Code: 0   : 'tinyMCE' is undefined
    URL: http://localhost:8080/alfresco/faces/jsp/wizard/container.jsp
The page is displayed but without the HTML WYSIWYG.
This does not happen for TXT and XML input.

2. Creating a Web Project
Create Web Project Wizard (step: 5. Email users)
    a. Line: 254,    Position: 1, Code: 0   : 'document.getElementById(…)' is empty or no object
    URL: http://localhost:8080/alfresco/faces/jsp/wizard/container.jsp
The page is displayed and data can be inserted! It is not yet clear if the e-mail will be sent.

3. Creating content in a Web Form
Create Web Content Wizard (step: 2. Author Web Content)
    Adding XML content
    a. Line: 2, Position: 65546, Code: 0   : ')' expected
    b. Line: 2918, Position: 1, Code:0  : ')' expected
    c. Line: 4872, Position: 9, Code: 0 : '{' expected
    Adding HTML content
    a. Line: 2,    Position: 65546, Code: 0   : ')' expected
    b. Line: 268, Position: 1,        Code: 0   : 'tinyMCE' is undefined

    URL: http://localhost:8080/alfresco/faces/jsp/wizard/container.jsp
The page is displayed but without the HTML WYSIWYG, or the XML text area.
This does not happen for TXT input.

I cannot find the sources that produce these errors.  I'm willing to try to correct this because we are evaluating Alfresco for a group of lawyers offices and we would like to show them all of Alfresco's features.

Question: Can somebody please tell me where I have to look for correcting these errors? If I get them corrected, I will post the corrected files on this forum.

Thank you,
Rui Rosado

We have tested with IE7 and don't see any of those issues. Do you have any custom security settings on the browser? Do you have any 3rd party script blockers apps like Norton/Mcafee or ZoneAlarm?

Thanks,

Kevin

I'm going to check that.
We are using Trendmicro Internet Security 2007(network version) here. It has a network security part, so that could be causing the problems: this weekend I tested the Web Client on a laptop with Firefox connected to the network and noticed the same problem (no TinyMCE) screen).
I will keep you informed, and thankx for checking this out with me.

Hi Kevin,

Well, I installed Alfresco on a different PC (a laptop Win2k, no firewall, no anti-virus) and on this PC everything works fine !!

I can also edit HTML content from my PC (that has been giving me trouble with the HTML-content so far), when I work as a client with the laptop as a server: (http://laptop:8080/alfresco).
So it seems that if I use my own PC (WinXP-Pro, Trend Micro anti-virus, firewall, etc.) as a Alfresco-server, I cannot create/edit HTML-content, nor can the other PC's on the network (also not when I switch off the anti-virus, etc.).
I'm going to research this further.

Thanks,
Rui
