from the exception it looks like you were either trying to upgrade your installation…or trying to install over an existing schema..

i am guessing from the error stack here…if you are trying to upgrade… then best of luck… I am also new to alfresco…soemone here might help you out. but if you are trying to install on an existing one… try dropping the schema and create a new one , also check the permissions for the user that you are trying to connect as to this schema.

cheers

Thanks for your reply.

I droped the existing schema in Oracle DB and create new one called alfresco. Starting the server again i got the same exception like

"11:05:11,895  ERROR [domain.schema.SchemaBootstrap] Schema auto-update failed
org.alfresco.error.AlfrescoRuntimeException: A previous schema upgrade failed or was not completed.  Revert to the original database before attempting the upgrade again."

while configuring the oracle i followed the information from http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Database_Configuration
apart from this , shall i want to do any other thing?

Hi lmanoh.

I don't use Oracle, I believe your issue may be related to the fact that one of the know issues in 3B is that it doesn't work with any other database than MySQL.  I'd been using SQL Server for previous versions until 3B.  Smiley Sad

what about the permissions of the user that you are trying to connect as…are they ok… i hope they should..but as suggested above it might not support oracle…but that is highly unlikely… ( CMS's need to be database agnostic)

Thanks Friends, wonderful response i got from u guys,

Now i got solution,

if we have a multiple schema in the database, we need to specify default schema in "custom-hibernate-dialect.properties"
for example,

hibernate.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle9Dialect
hibernate.default_schema=alfrescolab

here alfrescolab is a schema name in oracle.

It would be interesting to know how you reached this solution, as this would help me and others like me   Smiley Indifferent

No. It support oracle. for me its working fine. i installed alfresco lab 3 only.

http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Database_Configuration

check above link.
1.delete all the content alf_data folder in alfresco.
2.create new schema in db called alfresco
3. get the in information from above link. Now restart the server.

its working fine.  Smiley Happy
