We have Alfresco running on a server and has been up for about a year.  This past Saturday the server it runs on froze so we had to restart the server, since then no one has been able to log into the system.  When I try to login I get a failed to login error.  "The remote server may be unavailable or your authentication details have not been recognized."  I have never worked with alfresco before, the guy who set it up in no longer with the company.  I have fumbled around for about 5 hours trying to trouble shot with no success.  Any help would be appreciated.

Here is some more information.
Running on Windows server

Hi fairviewIT,

where do you get this error message? When trying to log on to Alfresco Share or when you are trying to log on to Alfresco Workdesk? To me it sounds more you are working with Alfresco Share only and you posted your question in the wrong topic. Nevertheless, I can think of one problem here.

Are you using your LDAP authentication system and the LDAP users to log in to Alfresco. If yes, is the LDAP system running on the same server machine as Alfresco? Did you also restart the LDAP system after you restarted the server? Which Alfresco version is affected exactly?

When calling http://YOURSERVER:YOURPORT/alfresco/service/cmis/index.html you should be able to find the exact product version under CMIS Repository Information.
