Hello, this is my first post Smiley Happy

I have downloaded and installed the Alfresco SDK, and also configured Eclipse.

I'm getting this error if I try to compile the FirstFoundationClient example

Hi i'm new to alfresco too and still can't start the SDK. I went trought lots of problems one of which was right like yours the solution for me was to import externel jars from the eclipse - import all jars you can get to from the root alfresco dir and all subdirs in it

I resolved the error by extracting the contents of :

/opt/sdk_alfresco/lib/server/dependencies/alfresco-blog-integration.jar
files'  /org/alfresco/module folder contents to: /opt/sdk_alfresco/samples/FirstFoundationClient/build/org/alfresco/module

This has solved the orignal issue; However, i'm getting a new issue now:

Fixed the above error by copying /opt/sdk/lib/server/dependencies/ subetha-smtp.jar file's contents as : /opt/sdk/samples/FirstFoundationClient/build/org/subethamail

Vibhu,

Please do not cross-post to multiple forums - it makes tracking replies very difficult.

It sounds like your SDK environment is quite seriously broken - rather then attempt to troubleshoot each problem individually I would create a new environment and copy your project there. The latest version of the Enterprise SDK is 2.2, or you can get version 2.9.0B of Community here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=143373&package_id=189441

Cheers,
Will.

Hi Will,
Thanks for  the insight. I removed and reconfigured the sdk 2.9.0B.  However, FirstFoundationClient.java is still giving me errors while FirstWebServiceClient.java executes properly with the desired output.

I followed the steps provided in Alfresco_Sdk wiki page(http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Alfresco_SDK)

And  associated the source code to the files: alfresco-repository.jar,  alfresco-core.jar, alfresco-remote-api.jar, alfresco-web-client.jar, alfresco-web-service-client.jar

The error from FirstFoundationClient.java remains as:

Before that, I had got the same error as vibhu :
For the 'blogIntegrationService' error, you need to delete an entry in the file application-context.xml
This file is in your SDK directory/lib/alfresco/server/config.jar
In application-context.xml, delete the line with "blogIntegrationService".

Next, you will have a 'serverConnector' error. Add the subetha-stmp.jar in your classpath. This jar is located in  your SDK directory/lib/alfresco/server/dependencies.

You may have a server binding error or something like that too. Just kill the java processes like "javaw.exe".

Finally, there is an another error which can occur : "store root" something.
It seems, you need to synchronise your database with your file system.
To do that, you need to delete all the contents in your dir.root folder (alf_data by default).
Then you clean your alfresco database : remove and reinstall it.
(for exemple with mySQL on windows, just launch db_remove.bat and db_setup.bat in your SDK directory/extras\databases\mysql directory.

Now you are at the same point as me
But I found no documentation about this error.

Can someone help me?

Edit : I found the bug : don't let a space character behind the url of your dir.root !  Smiley Indifferent
Wooooot my first SDK example is now running after 3 days of debug !

SOLUTION FOR : Errors while executing the SDK FirstFoundationClient

Error message shows as
“Exception in thread "main" org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'emailServer' defined in class path resource [alfresco/bootstrap-context.xml]: Instantiation of bean failed; nested exception is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/subethamail/smtp/MessageHandlerFactory”

This is due to missing “subetha-smtp.jar” in the main library of “SDK AlfrescoEmbedded”.  This jar file is inside the dependencies folder, which needs to be included one level above.

Steps:
• Right click on “SDK AlfrescoEmbedded” and select “properties”
• Go to Java Build Path->Libraries
• Click on “Add JARs”-> Select “dependencies->subetha-smtp.jar” file
• Click “OK” // Now the jar file is included at root level

Now go to “SDK FirstFoundationClient” and Run the Java file.
