When using labs studio, after trying to download one of the example sites, the alfresco.log shows

18:52:25,812 WARN  [org.alfresco.web.framework.ImportTask] Received a 500 on cal
l to: /remotestore/create/components/alfresco/fishtank/images/fishtank.png?s=pwr

An error 500 is an internal server error at /remotestore. The sample website is not downloaded. What can I do to make it download?

Hi there,

Can you tell me about the environment you're installed on?  Do you have Alfresco WCM installed?

If you're using a standard drop of Alfresco Labs, then Web Studio and the Alfresco WCM repository are both installed on localhost.  Is that the case for you?

Alfresco Web Studio will use Alfresco WCM to create web projects and user sandboxes.  If you've followed the tutorials, then this is generally done as the admin/admin users for demonstration scenarios.

Some folks have had a bit of trouble as well if there are any network connectivity issues to the Alfresco Network server (from which the sample sites are downloaded).  However, in your case, it appears that things downloaded fine and the problem occurs when you're deploying the assets.

Any environmental or additional details would help out!

Thanks,

Michael

I have installed Labs 3 Stable on an Ubuntu 8.04 LTS server, using the .bin install file. Then I have unpacked WCM into /opt/Alfresco. The manual says I have to move an xml file, but that file was already there (I still moved the new file to that location). I have installed it as root. I have restarted Alfresco after unpacking WCM. The server is in a remote location, I access it from my laptop computer.

I have created a proxypass in my apache web server to map port 8080 to a separate sub domain, which works well for alfresco and share, although sometimes I get an error message refering to port 8080 which is open for apps on localhost but not for remote users.

I think studio works, by itself, it's just the examples that don't download. I happen to like examples more than tutorials 🙂

ps
I have restarted Alfresco and now I think it is interfering with something else on my server that I installed last Sunday. I'll make a fresh install on another server and see what happens.

ps 2:
on a different server studio seems to work. issue resolved.
