Enterprise Version License and price

Hi,

Now that the alfresco, has a clearer licensing model and versions (in my opinion much better), where features exist only in the Enterprise version and maintenance versions are released more frequent (correction of bugs) for the enterprise version .

Why not is there a cheaper license, which allows access to the benefits of enterprise version, without having to pay for support / installation of Alfresco or its partners?

My situation (I believe that many of the others are in the same situation) is that I am a freelancer, I am now a client who is interested in mounting an intranet and in principle I will choose the Alfresco Share. But paying more than € 15,000 for the product and installation is completely impossible, however if for example about 3000 € just for software, as could be possible.

Thus also was to contribute a little to the excellent product and work you have done and that should be rewarded, but for smaller projects should have an intermediate license.

If you're interested in SMB pricing, we've had some ideas as to how to provide this.  Please email sales@alfresco.com for more details.

Hello, I sent our requirements to Ms. Ana Hortas-Barros but have not received a feedback since. I was wondering if i can discuss our requirements with someone from sales ASAP. We need to make a decision within the week. A prompt feedback will be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Tricia

Sorry for being late. Can you please share these ideas about SMB pricing here ? I have talked to some Alfresco sales but they are firm on processor licensing …

……… where features exist only in the Enterprise version…….

I had another impression, that the difference between Enterprise edition and Community  edition is only in support.  :?:

At least that was stated in official Alfresco book.

There was a change in strategy from Alfresco Enterprise 3.1/Labs 3 Stable onwards.

There are now Enterprise Only features, such as the JMX admin console, Kofax, Support for non Open Source databases and JGroups clustering.

There are also Community Only features such as Web Studio.

And you are right that there is commercial support for the Enterprise versions.

If I'm correct, Alfresco had a per-user-license in the past, but it seems that that is no longer possible?
I am interested in these ideas for SMB pricing as well? anybody got more info on that?

Kind Regards

Alfresco never had per-user-license. It was always per processor license.

Red Hat & Alfresco did trial selling Alfresco on Red Hat Exchange for only 50 users. However, I believe this has since been discontinued.

SpikeSource did provide their own certified "Alfresco SpikeIgnited" based on Alfresco Community on a per user license, but have since changed their business model. They no longer offer this.
