         i have published the webproject from bulk import. i need to edit the page which is in live (i.e., inline edit)

No.    The "live" website is read-only.

You would edit your changes in an authoring environment and then deploy them to your live site.

Actually what you can do is to link your live site to some sort of dynamic resource.     This is how WQS works.
