Hello,

I have Alfresco4.2.c/windows server 2008 on the distant server ,aned IE8/9 as browser.
So my problem is when I click the edit bonton online, it appears to me that it is in the process of downloading the document by opening Office Word 2010, but there is no content, and after a few seconds it m 'displays an error message as follows

An idea about this problem?

One note: I did not like the editor of this forum, it lacks a lot of improvements

I'll start with the obvious, does the computer from where you're trying to edit the document knows  TUNINTRANET ?
Try
 ping TUNINTRANET

it and see if it resolves.

Yes TUNINTRANET is the name of the server, but does your local machine recognizes it as a correct IP address?
Could you please try to ping it?
On windows XP:
Start menu > run > write "cmd" then enter
vista/7
start menu > in the search area write "cmd" then enter
UNIX
open a terminal

and once you're there, write:
ping TUNINTRANET

No it not ping. but why should I ping, although I am connected through a vpn client? excuse me I do not understand enough the domain of network.Because TUNINTRANET is the adress given by VPN ,and not the real address. So you think it must still ping?

Now,TUNINTRANET ping well,i added the address in the file Hosts. But i have always the same problem, the file is displayed under MS Word 2010 without content

What's the URL you use to access your alfresco server?
Is the error message still the same in word?

Basically I wanted to check that word could guess where to go when you asked it to go to http://TUNINTRANET . That's why I asked you to ping it.
If you have it in your hosts it solves the problem for you but not for all of your colleagues. That's not really an optimal solution.

Now if it still can't find the server there might be several resons:
Maybe your server is behind a proxy which doesn't allow the port 7070 to go through.
Maybe your sharepoint server didn't start for some reason (have you checked the logs for errors? can you run a netstat on the said server and look for port 7070?)

Maybe you should contact your sysadmin about these connectivity issues.

yes that is the problem ,that i must add this address to the hosts file for each client machine.
Concerning to my own machine, the problem is due to the lack of Sharepoint 's services for MS Word 2010.
I succeded to make it work on another computer with MS Word 2010 and 2007, so it should also work with me
Thanks for your help
