Edit online not working

Hello,

I don't know why but my previous post just got deleted...

I installed a fresh CentOS 7 server with Alfresco Community using this guide:

How to Install Alfresco Community Edition on RHEL/CentOS 7/6 and Debian 8

Everything seems to be working fine except the "Edit in Microsoft Office".

When I click that link, it opens Excel but the sheet is not being opened, just a blank page while Excel is still responsive.

Using Office 2013, tested on different PC's but all same results.

I did notice that http://mydomain.com:7070 is not reachable while I added the port forward in the router and also opened the port on the server firewall.

During the installation it did not ask for the Sharepoint port like the above instruction suggest:

Alfresco SharePoint Port Please choose a port number for the SharePoint protocol. Port: [7070]:

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey Chris - Your other post wasn't deleted - just caught in the moderation queue. I've approved it and it's published over in ECM. I'll delete this one, as it is a duplicate now. Sorry about the delay!

Thanks for your answer.

Don't delete this one please because when I browse to the other one I get:

An unexpected error has occurred

We're having issues with moderation. I'll just move this post over to ECM and delete the one that seems to be stuck!

When installing Alfresco did you use the 5.0.d version as indicated in the linked guide or did you use the newer 5.1.x or 2016xx GA releases? In that case the SharePoint support no longer has a separate port and thus the question for the port will not come up. SharePoint support now runs on the same ports as the web UI (default installer sets up ports 8080 and 8443).

It would be great if you could provide log output regarding your issue. Typically alfresco.log is relevant for SharePoint support. Additionally I always find that the access log can also be helpful in this case since that helps determine at what point an issue in the communication between browser / office app and Alfresco occurred.

Thanks for your answer!

No I used that guide but I indeed installed the newest version, so that would be the answer for not getting that Sharepoint port question Smiley Happy

See the attachment for the complete alfresco.log

The log does not show anything related to Edit Online. Can you provide the access log as well?

Hello,

The access file is really big, maybe search words I can use to narrow it down a bit?

What I have to say is that I followed that guide but I didn't install the nginx server, only did the part of installing Alfresco.

Don't know if that's a problem?

Think the only things worth mentioning in the tomcat access logs are:

The SOLR related accesses are just the "background noise". You may search for lines that refer to _vti or /aos but by only providing a grep-ed excerpt you may miss some important information. The best option would be to strip all lines that contain /service/api/solr calls.
