'Edit online' missing

Hi there,
using a fresh install of 4d on windows7 i uploaded a ms word and excel file into the repository.
However i can not edit the document online. The 'edit online' menu item is missing entirely.
I can choose from "download" or "edit offline" which is not what i want.

The spp module is installed:

Firewall is disabled all service ports are being used fine. Logfile indicates no problems…

Please enlighten.

does the document in question have the editable aspect applied? the easiest way to check is in the /alfresco context, so log in at your.server.address:8080/alfresco, then navigate from Company Home to your file. Click the document details button beneath the document.

In the properties section of this page, at the very bottom, you should see "This document [is|is not] inline editable" if it is not, there should be a further option to 'Allow Inline Editing'.

Thanks for your input, chris.

I did as you suggested, opened the details of a ms word document, and selected "allow inline edit" or similar.
After i re-opened the details of that document it now says in the properties section: Edit Inline: No.

And still no online editing possible.

After you clicked "Allow inline edit", in the details of the document it says "Edit Inline: No"?

I'm not sure what I could suggest, that's is very much counter to what I would expect.
