Easier categorization

Hello,

I would like to make easier the categorization of a document.
More specific I have make mymodel according to http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Data_Dictionary_Guide and I have add some more properties. Also I have change the file which is responsible for categories.
Now i want the following:
when a user adds a file he must be able to select its category. How could this be done. I mean that i would like the by default appearance of the category menu.
This now appered only after the user uploads the file and select category-allow categorization-etc….

What sould be done?
I appreciate any help in solving this issue.

1. You can customise the content creation wizard to add an additional step where users have to select a category.

2. If users are using CIFS to upload content, you can have a space for each category. Just by dropping the document into that space the category is assigned to the document. Depending on how many categories you have this can be a very complex solution. This is typical in EDRM implementations where you have a file plan that can be associated with one or more categories.
