Drop down list and mandatory metadata

Hello

I am looking into the latest 1.1 release

Is it possible to have a customised metadata taking its values from a predefined list of values. The same way that "Content Type" attribute works.

Also can I mark customised metadata as mandatory? Ideally I would like the new customised metadata to appear when I choose the content type or as a last step before I press Finish when I add/create content. At the moment you have to populate the extra metadata in 2 steps and there is no way to force the user to populate them

Is it something that you may implement in a future release?

Yes is the short answer. There are JIRA bugs raised for all the points you raise here.

To get the customised metadata you would have to define a custom control in the configuration for the property, this is covered by AWC-99.

Mandatory property enforcement is covered by AWC-202 and AWC-188 is about making sure custom properties and properties belonging to aspects that may be added are prompted for.

Any idea when the above may be released.

I was actually thinking to try and implement some of the functionality creating my own JSPs but if they will be released soon I could wait.

I would hope that all the issues are resolved in the first quarter of next year.

If all goes well some of them may appear in the 1.2 release early next year.
