Hi,
in my installation of alfresco i've created a folder to use as an "archive" that only admins can modify. Now i need to download the files in the archive and i was thinking of downloading the whole folder as a yip but when i try to do so i get an error because the folder is approx 10gb in siye while the limit is 2. Is there a way to download the whole folder in one go or do i have to divide it in 2gb max folders?

you can connect to webdav with the webdav client of your operating system (win explorer, mac finder, linux -> connect to server)
see: Client WebDAV

you can always connect via a file server subsystem/protocol to alfresco like webdav for example.

Is there a way to download a folder and it's content using the alfresco webdav or that's only to view the files stored on hte server?

Probably it's me doing something wrong but i can't seem to connect to alfresco. Every time i try (both on the machine where i have installed alfresc owith localhost both on a different machine on the same network) windows always tells me "The folder you have entered doesn't appear to be valid". I tried both with UNC and with IP but neither of those work

can you give some more detail? whats your OS? which path have you used explicitly from the remote host to connect to your alfresco installation? any firewall in between that may be blocking ports?

I tried on a remote computer running windows 7 and o nthe server running windows server 2012 r2. On the server i tried \\localhost@8080\alfresco\webdav\ while on the remote machine (on the same network) i tried the same but with the server ip instead of localhost, in addition to that i tried with the ip too but i get the same result. I tried to connect with filezilla too on the port 21 but every time i get "Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server"" using an alfresco's admin username ad password and having set "ftp.enabled=true" in alfresco-global

Ok it somehow worked now with filezilla, i guess it was a temporary problem. I would like to know if there's a way to make the normal windows webdav work since that would be easier to have accepted from my employer rather then saying "you need to install filezilla too"

most users with win7 struggle to make it work since of default security settings. there are many blogs / wiki articles describing what needs to be done to make the mount work for win 7.
