Does the new UI in Activiti 6 remove the need to use the Eclipse-based Alfresco Designer?

From my very limited usage of the Activiti Designer and the Kickstart App the new UI in Activiti 6 seems to remove the need to use Activiti Designer at all.

Is the Kickstart App at feature parity with the Activiti Designer?

I like the web interface much more than the Eclipse interface.

Hi Kent,

The new Angular 1 based UI in version 6 does indeed include an updated version of the old KiS Editor that you experienced in the Version 5 Activiti-Explorer2 application (model editor).

It provides almost all of the features of the eclipse modeler (now deprecated) with the exception of an XML view (which I certainly miss).

Since it's introduction, there have been a number of changes introduced to make it feature compatible with the eclipse designer and as far as I can tell, outside the XML view issue, it is pretty close.

Hope this helps,

Greg

Yes, It is indeed a replacement of old Eclipe plugin but keep in mind. It is still a beta release and not sure what Alfresco is planning for that in future releases. It has lot of advantages of Eclipse editor.  In Activiti Enterprise edition this is fully supported but for community version it is still in beta phase.

Great, thanks for the replies ‌ and ‌. It is good to see things going more toward the web interface.
