Documents Disappeared?

I couldn't find anything on this so I apologize if similar questions have been posted, but today when I logged onto Alfresco our Document Library is completely empty, and our recent activity dashlet says "could not load activities list"

the alfresco log doesn't show any problems connecting to mysql or open office, and in fact has no meaningful errors.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to start debugging this?

On further inspection, it appears that the Document Library and all Document Library functionality is gone… when I click on Document Library the main screen is completely blank and along the left it are options for All Documents, I'm Editing, Others are Editing, etc… none of which do anything to the main screen.

This may help my search I'll update if I find anything useful…

A few things that might help anyone thinking about this problem…
running Alfresco Community edition 3.2 on Redhat Linux with MYSQL and openoffice

Not that I hadn't already tried it, but I randomly decided to stop the alfresco server and start it one more time, and all my Documents came back on the 3rd try? Strange but no complaints.

Advice for anyone with this problem: double check when you're restarting that any java processes are really dead before ./alfresco start
