Hi all,
i'have setup a rule that tranform a pdf to text (as tutorial), when a new version is checked in for the pdf, i get a new .txt file.
It's possible to have the .txt added as a version to the existing one, instead of creating a new one ? (So that i have 1 pdf with all versions, and 1 txt with matching versions)

If not, it's a feature addable with a reasonable amount of time ?

Hi

In the 1.3 release, we plan to have an option on several of the rule actions that allows you to update/overwrite the transformation on content update.  If the transformation is versionable, then that should mean a new version is created.  We hope to have 1.3 out at the end of April.

If you would like to get the code as soon as it is done, then watch the JIRA topic: http://www.alfresco.org/jira/browse/AR-333

Cheers
Paul.

Hi,

On a slightly different note, when testing version 1.2.1 I noticed that transformations (from Word into PDF) preserve categories. This was not the case in previous versions I worked with. Is that a correct observation? Will version 1.3. give the user control over category preservation as well?

Regards

Ludo

Hi

Let me just add one observation with respect to my last posting in this thread. I said that I had noticed that transformations preserve properties. This is not completely true.  While the source document has the title: "3MF Organization and Resourcing April 2006", the PDF document ends up with the title "3MF Organization and Resourcing April 2006.pdf". I suppose this is a bug that is easily fixed.
