We are using Alfresco 5.1. The Document Preview successfully displays the first version of an uploaded document. However, when we upload a new version, the preview continues to display the original version.
Upon uploading a new version, Alfresco displays an informational message telling the user that they need to refresh their browser in order for the preview to show the new version. However, even after refreshing the browser multiple times, the old version is still displayed.
No error messages are displayed in the log files and we have verified that even when accessed by a different user from a different browser, the old version is still displayed.
How can we make the Document preview show the latest version?

You can download and use Alfresco Community 201702GA, it should contain the fix for this issue that Loftux provided.

How to upgrade or How to redeploy War files into existing Alfresco ECM

I managed to redeploy the war files... somehow it worked this time around not sure what I did differently .
I essentially stopped tomcat, deleted the work folder , put the new War files in Webapps and started the tomcat again!!
The issue still remains so doesn't look like the fix was in War files

A week on , I have tried everything to get this issue fixed but nothing has worked.
The WAR file upgrade failed.
Followed the steps to migrate the Contentstore that failed too and I can't just delete and reinstall this server because I have so much files etc in there... There doesnt seem to be an easy straight forward way of patching or upgrading this application at all.

I know this forum is not for installation, but since no one is really discussing anything here anymore and others might end up here and have to face the problems i faced as a noob , here is an article i just published which i put together from reading many different blogs and article on how to deploy war files for alfresco .

Can help and in this case - Document preview problem was fixed by changing libreoffice's ctl.sh to libreoffice_ctl.sh
