Hello all,
Been searching for ages for this function and I know it has been asked a lot, but no real solution to this yet.
Why would you have to implement/edit/install all kind off different mods and pages etc while a function like this (let the 'Create site' link see to people only member of (a) specific group(s)) should be a default on Alfresco.
Doesn't seem like there is any easy way to make this happen.

That's probably one of the problems indeed.
I searched that github page for the amp files but they're not there.
The explanation is also not really clear on how to install that extension.

The AMP files aren't there because you need to build them (as described in the README file along with the Maven configuration and commands that you need to run). Once you've built the AMP files they can be deployed following the general AMP installation instructions in the Alfresco docs.
Updates to the README will obviously be down to Jeff Potts (as this is a community module and not an official Alfresco offering). If there are specific issues with the AMP installation documentation then I'm sure the Alfresco docs team would like to hear about it (you can provide feedback at the bottom of each documentation page).

Thanks for referring the Site Creators add-on, and for taking a look at it .
On the GitHub project page, if you click "Releases" you'll see that we provide AMPs for each stable release of the add-on. So you don't have to build them yourself if you don't want to.

Thanks Jeff Potts!
I downloaded the AMP files and ran the bin/apply_amps.sh
command, restarted Alfresco server and voila, it's working
Thank you very much for this addon which is very important to many users I suppose
When I'm on your github page GitHub - jpotts/share-site-creators: An Alfresco add-on that limits site creation to those in a spec... it's not really clear where to click to get to the Releases page.
Maybe an idea to update the readme.md with a link to it?

You are welcome. Thanks for using it.

Right Dave Draper! (and thanks for including me into the conversation)
Cris Kolkman, as Dave Draper says, I'm starting to work on the developer experience in learning Alfresco and could be nice to have any kind of suggestion from your point of view (no matter which is your level into Alfresco). If you have a bunch of time to dedicate to this improvement for the community, I will be very happy to receive your thoughts in my email box. Feel free to ask and write me, please.
Cheers.
