Hello,
Is there a way how to change the default layout? I am mainly interested in the icon size and font size. I feel, that even on large screen with large resolution is visible only small amount of information…
I searched through wiki and this forum, but nothing relevant found…
Or is the only way to manually change the css files?
Thank you.

I'm having the exact same question. I noticed it's possible to add a new theme with appropiate css and image files, however I'd also want to edit some of the layout itself, not only the way it's currently presented. Would be happy if someone could tell us more.

Michael

I've actually come a bit further.

It seems page layout is defined in WEB-INF/class/alfresco/templates/org/alfresco/*.ftl. Those files all refer to other files, which seem to live in WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/site-webscripts/org/alfresco/components/. I'm assuming it's possible to override these, so that's what I'm going to try. I'll report back here if I know more.

It's possible to override all of this very easily. My shared loader path is /var/lib/tomcat6/shared/classes. I created a directory /var/lib/tomcat6/shared/classes/alfresco/web-extension/site-webscripts/org/alfresco/components/footer/ with a file footer.get.html.ftl with alternate footer content (different from the default in Alfresco Share), restarted tomcat and it was there. So now I'm off to edit more files, I hope I also solved your problem with my little journey.

Michael

Since this thread is posted in the "Alfresco Explorer Development" forum, I guess the original author wants to change font etc in the jsf gui and not in Share.

For Share templating seems to be coming up in 3.3, saw the following tweet from Paul Holmes-Higgin the other day "Finally, theme switching is in the Share UI (3.3 HEAD) - now we just need more themes, which should also be easier now"

To change fonts etc in explorer (jsf-gui), you have to change the main.css located in the core of alfresco web client.

Theme switching will be easier, but theming itself won't see an big update in v3.3

Thanks,
