DataList within another DataList

Hi,

  I have a Custom DataList named Employee and within the DataList have a drop down field named Department.
This department field contains many values within the drop down.
Here for adding a new value to the drop down I need to edit the xml file and add the new value.

can we define DataList named Department and include this datalist for the Department field of the Employee DataList?

or any other solution for it?

i am a newbie in Alfresco 4.0.d. I have created custom datalist models, context model and also configured the share config xml file and everything is working well. How ever the datalist is not showing when i log in alfresco. What should i do then.
