Dashboard tweak to include the ability to launch Desktop app

Hi Everyone,

I would like to know if this is possible, basically we need to customize Alfresco user dashboard and include the ability to launch native Windows Desktop application from within Alfresco, kind of having a quick launch toolbar inside Alfresco user dashboard, is this even possible? If yes, how would you do it?

If you can figure out how to do it from a "normal" static HTML page, then yes it would be possible.
