Customizing the structure of an AMP file

Hi,
   I'm working with alfresco-mmt-2.1.0R1.jar.

I'm trying to add a custom file-mapping.properties as described here.

This document doesn't say _where_ to put this file? I assume it needs to go in my AMP file or else I won't be able to distribute the AMP to other people without also explaining how to run the AMP module management tool?
