Customizing navigator

Hi all,

I was wondering if it's possible to customize the navigator?

I looked at the navigator.jsp in the jsp\sidebar\ directory but it directs to a bean called NavigationBean. That's where I stuck. So if it's possible, can someone help me a little.

I only want to add a panel to the navigator or edit one.

Thank you very much,

Edwin

Yes, you're right the navigator panel is completely rendered with a JSF component, UINavigator.

Unfortunately, there is no customisation available for the navigator at the moment. If you want to edit or add a panel you'll need to customise the JSF component.

I am also looking into the possibilities of customizing the navigator, could you expand your answer about the JSF component? I am a newbie at Alfresco.

Thanks.

Basically you'll need to add the HTML to render your customisation into the encodeBegin method in org.alfresco.web.ui.repo.component.UINavigator or copy and past this class and override the definition of UINavigator in WEB-INF/faces-config-repo.xml.
