Customize alfresco UI

Hi all,

I have using alfresco-labs-tomcat-3Stable and downloaded source code from the Alfresco SVN ,
I am trying to change the templates (UI,images ,color,and so on) in the alfresco site, for that i have to go each and every page but this is tedious to do. is there anything like tiles concepts in alfresco coding? . if so which file i have to change?.

Which UI are you trying to customise? Alfresco Explorer or Share?

what to do incase of alfresco explorer?
If we want to customize the explorer UI like moving the search engine to some where and adding a new header tile and footer tile, and moving the space tree to right side etc.

The link which you have is takes me to extending/changing the available features.
But it does,t give new look and feel to the UI.
i want to give a new look to the existing UI like adding a small window to comapany Homes whcih sows all online users or moving the search window to the left side or bottom etc.
How can i do them in explorer UI ?

It sounds like you're not too familiar with JSPs and the Spring framework (JSF). I would strongly recommend you either buy some books and get some reading done, or book yourself on a training course.

Before you start customizing Alfresco, you need to make sure you're comfortable with the underlying technologies needed - JSP and JSF are vital for the Explorer web client.

Hi Mike,
where i can get the documents on alfresco's jsp like these jsps for this purpose.
Because it is a bit difficult to find the appropriate jsp to make changes.

I meant JSPs in general - not just Alfresco's use of JSPs.

However, there are some good Alfresco development books - a quick search on Amazon will bring them up.
