Custom properties or attributes

I am sure that this has been discussed in the forum and documentation but I was not able to find anything to help me solve the problem. For my case I need to define some additional attributes on documents like for example "due date" (a date picker) and "company" (from a fixed drop down list of partner companies that would work on this document). Is this something that is done with "models", "aspects" or some other way?

I'm a newbie but I think what you need to do is add metadata.

Seems best to define an aspect with the properties you require which can then be applied to your documents.

You can use rules to auto-apply the aspect to any documents in your folder hierarchy.

The Web Client may be customised to display/edit those properties and search on those properties.
