Custom icon path seems to be ignored

Hey guys, can anyone else confirm this? I'm using Alfresco Community 2.1.

When I add a new custom icon to my web-client-config.custom.xml, the web client seems to ignore it and always searches in the default /images/icons  folder.

This is my config line:

<icon name="space-icon-default-green" path="/images/woodwing/space-icon-default-green.gif" />

And yet this is what is served up on the web page:

<img border="0" align="absmiddle" title="Green Folder" alt="Green Folder" src="/alfresco/images/icons/space-icon-default-green.gif"/>

I determined this was happening when my custom icons weren't showing up, despite the fact that the folder and icons existed in my specified location. Putting them in the images/icons folder fixes the problem. This looks like a bug to me.

Update: It looks like Alfresco is searching my custom image path when displaying the icon choices to the user via the space wizard, but when serving the custom icon up via the UI, it's always looking in the default location for icons. If someone could confirm this, I'd appreciate it.

Your explanation as to what is happening in your update is correct, the space wizard uses the path in the config to display the icon but from then on it uses the "name" of the icon from the config to generate the correct icon for the scenario i.e. sometimes using a 16x16 icon sometimes using a 32x32 icon.

I agree this is confusing, the space wizard should really follow and use the same lookup technique, feel free to raise this as an issue in JIRA and we'll take a look at it.

Thanks Gavin, I'll go ahead and do that.
